[Choko-Nai-Pon '14 Feb.18]

In short: Who is the untidiest of the three? - SU-METAL is a scatterbrain.

This is a copy of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ogYqhZPNbI with English subtitles. This is a short radio program "Chokotto Naito Nippon" broadcast by Nippon Broadcasting System on 2014 Feb. 18th (#2 of 5).
    I am sorry if I have mistaken the voices of SU-METAL, YUIMETAL & MOAMETAL. The strange male laughter you may hear is probably the voice of the assistant director beside Mr. NISHIKAWA.

Notes

  1. She actually said "Yada" (= iya-da; dislike). Japanese girls often say this when they encounter an unexpected situation even if it is a happy one.
  2. In a winter day I saw a school girl putting on school sweat pants under her mini skirt in the train. Of course, warm stockings are allowed, but I occasionally (or rarely) see the girls in that style.
  3. When BABYMETAL was formed in the autumn of 2010, Miss Suzuka was 12 yr. (in 7th grade), and Miss Yui & Miss Moa were 11 yr. (in 5th grade).

  The transcription (.srt file) is below.

1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:04,000
Takanori NISHIKAWA's "Chokotto Naito Nippon"

2
00:00:04,100 --> 00:00:07,100
brought by S.T. "Shooshuuriki" (room deodorant).

3
00:00:07,200 --> 00:00:09,800
Good evening. This is NISHIKAWA speaking.

4
00:00:09,900 --> 00:00:14,300
And I present this week's "Choko-Nai-Pon"
with these guests.

5
00:00:14,400 --> 00:00:15,500
Please introduce yourselves.

6
00:00:15,600 --> 00:00:16,600
I am SU-METAL.

7
00:00:16,700 --> 00:00:17,600
I am YUIMETAL.

8
00:00:17,700 --> 00:00:18,600
I'm MOAMETAL.

9
00:00:18,700 --> 00:00:22,600
We are BABYMETAL. We beg your kindness.

10
00:00:22,700 --> 00:00:26,200
[TN] Well, they are really sparkling.

11
00:00:26,300 --> 00:00:34,200
YUIMETAL's round eyes are too cute.

12
00:00:34,300 --> 00:00:36,900
Her innocence is awesome.

13
00:00:37,000 --> 00:00:41,800
Well, I'll carry out this plan from tonight on,

14
00:00:41,900 --> 00:00:51,500
titled "NISHIKAWA versus BABYMETAL,
the metal turn-up talk".

15
00:00:51,600 --> 00:00:57,400
Roughly speaking,
there are the cards face down on the table,

16
00:00:57,500 --> 00:01:02,600
BABYMETAL turn up one of them,
and answer the question written on it.

17
00:01:02,700 --> 00:01:03,700
It's quite simple.

18
00:01:03,800 --> 00:01:14,100
But the staff have reacted strangely
to "metal" of "BABYMETAL".

19
00:01:14,200 --> 00:01:17,500
Perhaps they have looked up in Wikipedia.

20
00:01:17,600 --> 00:01:24,000
The various sub-genre names
of the metal music are written on the cards.

21
00:01:24,100 --> 00:01:27,200
BABYMETAL, you choose what metal you prefer.

22
00:01:27,300 --> 00:01:34,700
You need not care what they mean.
Such as "Nordic metal" are just instead of numbers.

23
00:01:34,800 --> 00:01:38,700
By the way, do you know
there are many sub-genres of the metal?

24
00:01:38,800 --> 00:01:42,100
[SU] Yes. I know
there are many kinds of the metal music...

25
00:01:42,200 --> 00:01:47,000
[TN] Don't say like beetle. Yes. There are many.

26
00:01:47,100 --> 00:01:50,800
Well, won't you mind
if I ask SU-METAL to choose tonight?

27
00:01:50,900 --> 00:01:52,400
SU-METAL, please choose one.

28
00:01:52,500 --> 00:01:54,400
[SU] Well, this one.

29
00:01:54,500 --> 00:01:58,200
[TN] She has chosen "industrial metal".

30
00:02:00,700 --> 00:02:04,000
(Q) Who is the untidiest of the three?

31
00:02:04,100 --> 00:02:05,100
[BM] Uh?

32
00:02:05,200 --> 00:02:08,100
[MOA] Bad.  *1
[SU] I wonder who.

33
00:02:08,200 --> 00:02:12,100
[TN] Well, SU-METAL is older than others, isn't she?

34
00:02:12,200 --> 00:02:13,200
[BM] Yes.

35
00:02:13,300 --> 00:02:15,300
[TN] Then, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL are...

36
00:02:15,400 --> 00:02:17,400
[YUIMOA] We are in eighth grade.

37
00:02:17,500 --> 00:02:21,200
[TN] Well, since SU-METAL is older than others...

38
00:02:21,300 --> 00:02:23,600
[MOA] Does age matter?
[YUI] Umm...

39
00:02:23,700 --> 00:02:25,400
[SU] What are those responses of you?

40
00:02:25,500 --> 00:02:26,600
[TN] Isn't she as I expect?

41
00:02:26,700 --> 00:02:28,500
[MOAYUI] SU-METAL is a scatterbrain.

42
00:02:28,600 --> 00:02:30,000
[TN] Is she so?
[YUI] Yes. [SU] Uh?

43
00:02:30,100 --> 00:02:33,100
[YUI] Sometimes she wears
left and right different socks.

44
00:02:33,200 --> 00:02:37,900
[MOA] She once came wearing pajama pants
under her long skirt.

45
00:02:38,000 --> 00:02:40,500
[YUI] And sometimes she wears shoes
on the opposite feet.

46
00:02:40,600 --> 00:02:42,200
[TN] The episodes are too cute.

47
00:02:42,300 --> 00:02:45,600
Did she wear pajama pants under a skirt
because it was cold?  *2

48
00:02:45,700 --> 00:02:47,000
[MOA] It's her mistake.

49
00:02:47,100 --> 00:02:51,000
[SU] I came wearing a long skirt.
And that day I had slept wearing short pajama pants.

50
00:02:51,100 --> 00:02:54,300
I wore a skirt and went out
forgetting to take off pajama pants.

51
00:02:54,400 --> 00:02:57,900
And when I changed my clothes for the lesson,
I found that.

52
00:02:58,000 --> 00:03:00,400
[TN] Like "Why? I'm wearing pajamas, ain't I?"

53
00:03:00,500 --> 00:03:02,300
[SU] Other members laughed at me much.

54
00:03:02,400 --> 00:03:03,800
[TN] I see.
[BM] Yes.

55
00:03:03,900 --> 00:03:07,700
[TN] SU-METAL is unexpectedly not reliable
though she is older than others, isn't she?

56
00:03:07,800 --> 00:03:09,400
[YUIMOA] Yes.
[SU] Uh? Am I really so?

57
00:03:09,500 --> 00:03:12,900
[YUI] But, when we form
a circle before the live performance,

58
00:03:13,000 --> 00:03:14,900
she always give us the pumping-up word.

59
00:03:15,000 --> 00:03:17,300
[TN] SU-METAL becomes like a big sister on that point.

60
00:03:17,400 --> 00:03:18,700
[YUI] Yes. On that point.
[TN] I see.

61
00:03:18,800 --> 00:03:21,300
[SU] Moa and Yui always look down on me
seeing my such acts.

62
00:03:21,400 --> 00:03:21,900
[MOA] No, I don't.

63
00:03:22,000 --> 00:03:24,300
[SU] Definitely. Definitely.
You definitely look down on me.

64
00:03:24,400 --> 00:03:26,600
[TN] Are you threesome originally?

65
00:03:26,700 --> 00:03:30,300
[SU] Yes. [MOA] From the beginning.
[SU] The members have not changed.

66
00:03:30,400 --> 00:03:35,400
[TN] I see. Since SU-METAL was older than others,
at the beginning of BABYMETAL,

67
00:03:35,500 --> 00:03:39,800
didn't you feel like "Am I suitable for a leader?"
Other two are younger than you.

68
00:03:39,900 --> 00:03:44,600
[SU] Well, since I had got few chances to be a leader,

69
00:03:44,700 --> 00:03:47,400
I felt very uneasy at first. *3
[TN] I see.

70
00:03:47,500 --> 00:03:53,100
Like that, three of you started the music
that you had never listened to before, had you?

71
00:03:53,200 --> 00:03:54,100
[SU] No, we had not.

72
00:03:54,200 --> 00:03:57,000
[TN] The sound is like that.
[SU] Really so.

73
00:03:57,100 --> 00:04:00,900
[SU] When I listened to the metal for the first time,
I felt like saying "What the f**k?".

74
00:04:01,000 --> 00:04:02,600
[TN] Really WTF.
[SU] Yes.

75
00:04:02,700 --> 00:04:07,600
[TN] Well then, we want the listeners
to listen to many BABYMETAL's tunes this week,

76
00:04:07,700 --> 00:04:11,500
so we say good-bye to BABYMETAL tonight,
listening to this tune.

77
00:04:11,600 --> 00:04:13,400
Please introduce the tune.

78
00:04:13,500 --> 00:04:19,400
[SU] Now, please listen to BABYMETAL singing
[BM] "IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI".

79
00:04:19,500 --> 00:04:22,900
[TN] Takanori NISHIKAWA's "Chokotto Naito Nippon"
brought by S.T. "Shooshuuriki" (room deodorant).
